It is a pine forest of 800 hectares that, at first, <strong>had an artificial origin<\/strong>, since the trees were planted so that the moving sand dunes would not affect the crops in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is known that, at one time, <strong>there was a natural pine forest in the area<\/strong>, but it was deforested in the 18th century, when the trees were cut down for the construction of warships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nowadays, both the dunes and the pine forest have been declared a <strong>Natural Interest Space<\/strong>, so if you are in the area you cannot miss these natural areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"El_Castillo\"><\/span>El Castillo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.campingarenablanca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/castillo-guardamar-del-segura.jpeg\" alt=\"Guardamar del Segura Castle\" class=\"wp-image-23050\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.campingarenablanca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/castillo-guardamar-del-segura.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.campingarenablanca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/castillo-guardamar-del-segura-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.campingarenablanca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/castillo-guardamar-del-segura-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/PdCjLsXG9d5yZdYZ8\" title=\"Castillo de Guardamar\" target=\"_blank\"><i class=\"fa fa-map-marker-alt\"><\/i> Castillo de Guardamar<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The castle of Guardamar del Segura is one of its best known heritage jewels, and the restoration work that has been carried out allows us to get a good idea of how the building was originally built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is located on top of a hill, where we can<strong> see both the castle and the remains of the wall and the citadel<\/strong>. But, undoubtedly, the best thing is that it has <strong>several lagoons inhabited by aquatic birds<\/strong>, and you will also be able to see tortoises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you look up, you&#8217;re sure to see squirrels scurrying through the treetops. This is the Torre de los Americanos, a rather curious point because it is the <strong>tallest structure in Spain<\/strong> and the tallest military construction in Europe, with an extension of 370 meters high.
